Senior Desktop Software Developer - C# Winforms WPF (Solihull)

The role will be part of a cross-functional team aimed at designing and implementing top-notch, Windows-based desktop applications. Job Description:

A software engineer working on a well architected and designed code base.

Work across all areas of the application as needed.

Conduct and participate in design and code reviews.

The Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical experience.

Minimum of 6 years of recent desktop (non-web) application development experience.

A good fundamental knowledge of OO principles, design patterns and the idioms of Winforms , WPF, C# and the .NET framework

Experience in using and developing with Microsoft SQL Server

Strong grasp of software design patterns and effective development methodologies

Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills

Customer and quality focused with excellent attention to detail

Desired Additional Skills:

Experience working in a SCRUM environment

A good understanding of threading concepts and issues

Experience developing multi-tiered applications

Experience with using dependency injection frameworks

Experience in unit testing

Experience doing TDD or BDD advantageous

Experience with TFS

The Role
The focus of the post is to provide day to day IT support for users and infrastructure across the company and covering three sites, supporting both internal and external customers. For applicants with the desire and aptitude there will be opportunities to become involved in system integration and development.
Duties
·Answering day to day support requests in person, via email or telephone.
·Hardware support and initial configuration of desktops and laptops.
·Supporting Microsoft technologies such as Windows Client/Server especially Hyper-V, Office 365 and SQL Server.
·Support core business systems such as servers, routers, switches, printers and network connectivity.
·Assist in the configuration of IT systems such as servers and new software rollouts.
Skills/Knowledge
·Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Office).
·Good knowledge of computer hardware.
·The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, care, accuracy and reliability.
