Currently based in Birmingham City, my client is looking for an experienced Software Tester to join their established QA team. The individual coming in will ideally be a manual tester who is looking to expand their automation knowledge. This new team member will always be looking for new ways to improve the testing environment whilst demonstrating the ability to meet tight deadlines.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Both Functional and Non-Functional testing
  • Troubleshoot performance issues in both Development and Production environments and document any defects into JIRA
  • Always looking to improve current testing processes
  • Set up, run and maintain the automation suite
  • Exploratory testing
  • Provide and articulate timely, appropriate progress reports to key stakeholders
 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of BDD, preferably Gherkin
  • Some experience of Java
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Experience in a bug tracking tool such as JIRA
  • Flexible, independent and self-motivated
  • Previous experience using Selenium WD (desirable)
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in software testing

  • Documenting test results, and compiling results into consolidated high level reports

  • Strong experience of iterative / incremental software delivery

Our client's ecommerce business has experienced incredible growth in recent years and we are looking for someone with experience of testing web based platforms / web browsers ideally using JavaScript. You must also have experience of taking ownership of work and working in cross functional teams.
