Product Solutions Architect – SQL / Configuration

Our client is a globally recognised financial services organisation with an excellent reputation and a fantastic track record of growth & progress. Due to their continuing growth they urgently require a Business Analyst / Solutions Architect to work in a hybrid role also including Solutions Architect / Post Trade Systems Consulting work. This works in an area of our clients business that offers a range of systems & services including Reconciliations, Regulatory Reporting, Post Trade Services and Reference Data. This is a permanent role based in London City.

Solutions Architect role will include:

• Gathering requirements, producing functional & technical specifications and communicating between business & development
• Solution configuration using SQL / SQL Server – you must be able to write queries, do multi-table work, joins, stored procedures, optimisation etc
• Deliver the customised solutions to internal clients – engaging across business & technical teams to drive solution
• Identify system issues and work towards resolution – this will require you to find and analyse user issues, communicate needs of the post-trade / reconciliations area to the technical development teams and monitor changes 

Our client is looking for a candidate with experience of:

• Business Analysis – gathering requirements, producing functional & technical specifications
• Technical / development work – the role does not require hands-on development but will need an in-depth understanding of technology and in particular advanced SQL / SQL Server skills
• Very strong SQL / SQL Server skills including SQL Stored Procedures
• Knowledge of reconciliations, post trade & post trade services, regulatory reporting or reference data.

What we'd like from you if you possess these skills:

• Experience with SQL, relational or non-relational databases as well as no-SQL data stores (time-series, preferably OneTick/OneMarketData), data semantics and modelling (preferably SQL Server)
• Experience using SQL and T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)

They are looking to add a Junior Consultant to their expanding practice to train them up to become full-fledged Implementation Consultant.

Hands-on Project Implementer with experience delivering to the business. The candidate will have software development and engineering skills that will be leveraged as the project/group grows. The individual will be self-motivated, intellectually curious and interested in working on a small team functioning as a collaborative meritocracy.

Day to Day:

• Responsible for development and support of enterprise-wide data implementations
• Collaborate with team members to provision data to be consumed by the business
• Work hands-on with other software developers, report developers, DBAs and operations team.
• Design and develop data quality rules, exception management workflows and screens. 
• Design and develop ETL modules using the SQL Server T-SQL or Oracle PL/SQL; particularly in creating/maintaining flexible and extensible structures
• Work with users and subject matter experts to understand business objectives
• Work with relevant subject matter experts to perform detailed source system analysis

Experience Required:

• 3+ ? years industry full cycle experience in developing for investment management firms
