The company have been operating successfully for over 20 years now and are well-known in the Glasgow community. Technology is at the forefront of the organisation and there is a real focus on the user; they'll keep you on your toes. The organisation is still constantly growing - change is perhaps the only constant - and their technology estate is still maturing. This means the business requirements change on a daily basis and there will be a good focus on upgrading legacy platforms with more modern technologies (still remaining dialogue). In the role you will be actively working with C++, SQL & Azure on a daily basis - but don't worry full training will be provided on all these technologies.

With the tech stack still maturing they are always looking at new technologies to implement to help make their platforms more efficient, attractive and user-friendly - as a result they are already looking into modern JavaScript Libraries and various UI tools, so going forward you would gain exposure to these technologies.

If successful, you'll join a small team of Developers (Circa 3) and will have responsibility for designing, developing and maintaining business critical systems. You will ideally have a solid understanding with at least one programming language, the company aren't too fussed with what this is (however bonus points for C++ & SQL) - as they have a great training plan for every Developer that joins. This role would be very suited to a motivated Software Developer that is looking for an opportunity where they can have a bigger impact on project work / the business than they currently do - and want to be actively involved within planning, designing, & developing large complex software platforms.

You will ideally have the following;
** Commercial experience with; C++, PHP, C#, Java or Python
** Understanding of databases
** Extremely motivated & willing to pick up new skills

Exposure with the following is highly beneficial;
** Azure (big bonus points for Azure DevOps)
** Modern JavaScript Libraries (ideally Angular or ReactJS)
** Engineering background would be advantageous but definitely not a requirement.

There are opportunities within this global organisation to develop and they put a huge amount of emphasis on the career development of their staff - the current Development Manager in this team joined the company as apprentice Developer over 10 years ago, a true testament that internal growth is definitely available, and of course staff retention is very high. In addition to career advancement, this role offers a competitive salary + benefits. Their office is based on the Southside of Glasgow and is easily commutable by car or public transport.

This role will suit an adaptable and flexible Software Developer who's seeking a long-term career role. If you're keen and can tick off all or most of the skills outlined above, please apply and/or call Douglas at Cathcart Associates.
