The JP Morgan Equity Finance Equity Finance IT group is looking to hire a highly motivated experienced Java/SQL Developer to play a key part in the expansion of their successful Portfolio Swap system. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, implementation and support of a wide range of ongoing and new projects on the platform. The ability to work closely with other teams in partnership will be critical to the success of this role.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Strong experience in Java, Spring, Oracle, and XML.
  • Strong object-oriented design and programming experiences.
  • Strong knowledge or working experience of Java EE, JBOSS app server, automated testing methodologies and frameworks, i.e. JUnit.Working knowledge of common design patterns.

Software Engineer

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge or understanding of infrastructure components such as routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage and networks
  • Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools(Jenkins, Jules, Maven), scripting such as Java, JavaScript, Python or Perl or Ruby, Scrum/Kanban/Agile methodologies
  • Experience in Core Java, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Unix Shell Scripting

You will require to support a unique environment of leading edge scientific customers and those in more traditional finance and logistics departments. You will also be required to assist in architecting and specifying scalable but flexible Application solutions to deliver a high quality end user experience.

Essential Skills

  • Good knowledge and previous experience of working with ERP systems in a support or implementation role
  • Ability to work with Relational Databases such as SQLServer and/or Oracle
  • Experience of web services development especially using REST APIs
  • A track record of successfully delivering fit for purpose software solutions in a dynamic environment
  • High level of analytical skills: understanding a business issue and providing a system solution
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:
*You have experience in an ETL support role for Data Warehousing and reporting marts in a financial services organisation
*You have good working knowledge of investment functions for an Institutional Fund Manager (IMC advantageous)
*You're experienced with the Informatica ETL toolset
*You have good SQL skills, including stored procedures (ideally PL/SQL); Oracle 12c
*You understand data modelling and logical / physical database design
*You're familiar with debugging and performance tuning of ETL processes and SQL queries
