Overnet Data is a small, innovative technology company that has been working in the education market for the last 12 years. We have developed a unique product called EduLink One that is proving extremely popular in schools, improving the quality and functionality of their IT services while also saving the schools a substantial amount of money.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced developer to join our development team working primarily on the PHP part of the stack but with opportunities to work on other areas.

We are a highly technical team with a strong focus on quality in all aspects of the business. Our infrastructure runs on our purpose-built Linux virtual appliances managed by our bespoke server management system, as a result previous experience or an interest in Linux system administration would be beneficial.

Technologies that we use include AngularJS, JQuery, Cordova, Nginx, PgBouncer, PostgreSQL and .NET. Our components are built predominantly using JavaScript, CSS, SQL, PHP, C# and Ruby.

In addition to the basic salary we pay twice yearly bonuses based on the performance of the company as a whole.

My client is a large multi disciplinary firm of construction and engineering consultants offering clients a range of services including quantity surveying, project management, building surveying, health & safety, civil & structural engineering, architecture etc.

They have offices across the UK and overseas.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to currently be working as a Senior Project Manager and be keen to work on higher value projects or to move up to an Associate.

You must have gained good experience of running a number of projects valued from GBP5m upwards.

Previous experience of construction projects for offices, residential, education and / or healthcare is required.

Ideally you will have broad based experience across a range of construction projects.

You will have a Construction / Built Environment Degree. You may be working towards becoming chartered or already be chartered and support will be given if required.

You must be able to drive the projects forward to completion within time and on budget.

You should have experience of project management from RIBA Stage 1 to completion.

You will have knowledge of a range of building contracts and have good contract administration experience.

Good communication skills are essential to deal directly with clients. You must be able to get on with people at all levels and be a good organiser to move the project forward.

You will need some experience of managing other project managers.

Salary is from GBP50000 to GBP70000 per annum depending on experience plus pension and a range of other projects.

The Department and role purpose

The Computing and Information Services (CIS) has an annual operational budget in the order of £10m, multi-million pound programmes of change within year, and approximately 140 staff who are predominately based at the Durham University campus. The Senior Leadership Team report directly to the Chief Information Officer with the following portfolios: Strategy and Change; Operations; and Information Systems. CIS provide academic, teaching and administrative services across the organisation that underpin the day-to-day activities of the whole organisation.

Recent infrastructure improvements include investment in a new network backbone, including new cable runs throughout the city to all of the University’s core buildings, new scalable user facing storage, and a new hosting environment. Corresponding business led investment also continues to be made with a new Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning suite, investment in research administration, and maximising the breadth of opportunities available to the University through Office365, alongside numerous other important initiatives.

The Senior Analyst is part of the IT Service Management team, and provides the opportunity to work directly with other members of the team and colleagues across the department, on a range of service management activities which underpin the delivery of customer-focused services to the University. As a Lead RPA Developer you will be joining our Tax Technology Consulting team which enables the development and adoption of new technologies within the Tax line of service.

You will be focused on designing and building end to end automation process solutions using UI Path and other technologies that meet our business requirements for process improvement. You will work within project planning constraints, owning development solutions and have a high level of exposure to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the business.
