As part of the largest Risk Analytics practice in the UK, our practitioners understand exactly how data underpins a business and how improving the management and use of this data improves the performance of the business.

Supporting our core advisory services, and using a range of analytical tools and technologies to deal with data issues, we help reveal new opportunities to our clients through better use of their data. We work with leading blue chip clients to help them realise the value of their data. This ranges from generating reliable information (e.g. data quality, mastering, governance) to diagnostic analysis (e.g. reconciling financial data) and value added analysis (e.g. improving operational performance) in areas relating to customers, workforce, finance, operations, supply chain, fraud, and, risk and regulatory. In addition, we provide advisory services in the core capabilities of information management, management reporting and data science.

Risk Analytics is an integral part of Deloitte's advisory capabilities, and our OneDeloitte strategy enables individuals to work with our specialists in different areas across the business.

Role description

As a practitioner in our Risk Analytics Corporates and Public Sector* team, you will:

  • Provide our clients with the information and insight they need to take the best decisions, improve their performance and minimise risk in projects and programmes ranging from advisory missions to technical assignments
  • Ensure that data and information meets the business requirements
  • Engage with clients to get a detailed understanding of their specific needs
  • Solve the puzzle of integrating disparate sources of enterprise data and information to model and visualise our clients’ businesses
  • Design and develop solutions for reporting and analytics
  • Develop solutions and processes to ensure the right level of data quality

*Corporates and Public Sector (CPS) comprises the following industry verticals:
  • Consumer & Industrial Products;
  • Telecoms, Media and Technology;
  • Energy and Resources;
  • Healthcare and Life Sciences; and
  • Public Sector

We are recruiting into each of these industries, so any sector experience will beneficial.

Location Your office will be based in London, but most of your time will be spent on client site.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering risk analytics projects, supporting the design of the project approach and producing deliverables for clients.
  • Working across a range of delivery engagements, from small to large projects, often as part of a mixed capability delivery team and at times working on more than one project in parallel.
  • Developing the internal practice through codifying best practice & delivery methodologies.
  • Supporting in the development of analytics propositions within the CPS industries, and the development of thought leadership.
  • To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

Requirements
  • Operated in, or have experience of Information Management and/or Data Science within one or more CPS industries.
  • Experience delivering services related to one or more of core Information Management and Data Science domains:
  • Data Strategy;
  • Data Architecture;
  • Data Governance;
  • Master Data Management;
  • Big Data;
  • Visualisation;
  • Analytical modelling;
  • Artificial intelligence;
  • Leading engagements delivering, working with or knowledge on a range of tools such as:
  • Information management tools (e.g. SQL, ETL, RDBMS)
  • Visualization tools (e.g. Qlikview, Tableau)
  • Data science (e.g. R, Python, Alteryx, SAS, SPSS)
  • Big Data tools (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)
  • Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience of applying supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms to a variety of business problems and an understanding of which approaches are relevant in different scenarios
  • Strong delivery skills, and experience of managing multiple engagements.

  • Experience managing, strengthening and broadening key client relationships.

Your professional experience
To be successful in this role you are required to have:

  • Data modelling techniques and tooling including conceptual, logical and technical modelling.

  • Very good knowledge of SAP ECC & S/4 data structures.
  • Experience of connectivity from on-premise to cloud hosted applications.

  • SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server (SLT).

Your professional experience
To be successful in this role you are required to have:

  • Data modelling techniques and tooling including conceptual, logical and technical modelling.
  • Understanding of DQ tools and how to conduct DQ (data quality) exercises and assess and present the results to senior-level clients.
  • Expert level of designing and presenting data architecture structures.
  • Very good knowledge of SAP ECC & S/4 data structures.
  • Experience of connectivity from on-premise to cloud hosted applications.

Your role

Location: London or St. Albans with a requirement for national and international travel for specific client projects. We work across various industries â€" our clients are wide-ranging, and associated projects will vary in both location and duration.

Your professional experience
  • Educated to degree level (or with equivalent professional experience) with a career spent in roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Able to demonstrate an independent, pro-active and confident approach to managing project-based work. You define rather than gather requirements and can articulate and execute your own vision.
  • Experienced leader of teams. You take responsibility for your teams' work and invest time in developing their capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable and adept at navigating competing priorities, resolving ambiguity and managing demanding expectations under pressure.
  • Commercial focus and outlook. You understand the business problem and evaluate your work by reference to it.
  • Highly articulate. You are able to communicate complex technical information and opinions clearly in written and verbal contexts.
  • Exceptional and proven technical ability in one or more of the following areas:
    • Use of SQL or other software / programming languages to create and analyse datasets
    • Data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Excel, VBA, R, Python, Tableau)
    • Network analytics and Big Data solutions (i2, Neo4j, Hadoop)
Significant experience in one or more of the following:
  • Independently designing and executing complex data analyses and preparing written reports articulating your findings
  • Undertaking investigative work, for example as a corporate investigator, an internal auditor or in a supporting analytics or information management capacity
  • The isolation and production of data held in business applications in order to analyse and disclose information in the context of legal disputes and regulatory investigations
  • The design or continuous improvement of fraud detection and prevention systems and processes in corporate or financial services environments
