Our client are looking to simplify the company architecture, adopting a more agile based delivery methodology, the whole team is on-board with that now. There are 7 different scrum areas as the architect, and you will be dedicated to all of them. The team is roughly 70 people across multiple international locations.

  • The .net system has recently been brought back in house, but the data is clean, so they are looking to upgrade it to micro-services and migrate to AWS transforming it to a more modern client offering using APIs, transitioning to Cloud. Modernising the tech stack

  • They are looking for a candidate with experience of cloud technologies and want someone to help move from a legacy application to something more modern to provide better offerings for our clients

  • You will be helping assess new architecture requests, these could be regulatory or business requests and help govern all the designs too, including governance aspects of cloud
The team process millions of transactions and have gone through a major transformation. They have bought the IP for a commercial client log in system and now have it in house, reworking the whole DB and front end.

The data is clean and has been hosted on site for the last 7 years. All the development was done by a third party to this point however. Soap UI instances with APIs will need to integrate in to this too to do the front end once the Data has been sorted from the back end.

They currently have multiple front ends and they want it to be omni-channel and come in through a portal. Want the architect involved in everything, the whole lot. Transforming to digital. portal. There is currently around 3 years worth of work and they are just starting this transformation piece, going from an application running on AIX, Linux windows, ab initio, TIBCO, oracle, AIS all these techs make up the function and they are migrating to a micro-services architecture in AWS.

They are currently migrate some of the periphery application to AWS now. On the fundamental core, wants to simplify the architecture, move away from dependency of off the shelf products and move towards open source and do it themselves.

There are currently 30000 different users of this system and the resilience category has been deemed high. RPO and RTO target needs to be no more than 5 minutes of data loss with a way of integrating third parties to access the data through APIs.

The concerns on CVs reviewed to date are that some of them have been biased towards infrastructure. We are looking for more Application Architects who are leaders.

If you believe this role is a good fit for you, please apply to this role or contact kmclernon (at) teksystems (dot) com
