What you will do:

DESCRIPTION

Here at Amazon we are looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team in one of our highly automated and fast paced Fulfilment Centers (FC).

Purpose of the Job:
The focus of the Maintenance Technician role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
· Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
· Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
· React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue.
· Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
· Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
· Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
· Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
· Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
· Experience fault finding within MHE/Automation systems
· Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
· Basic workshop skills
· Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
· Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations
· Experience of contractor management
· Ability to work shifts in a 24/7 environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng

You will join a team of 5 – Grace (Product Manager), Isabel, Stu, Tom & Phil (Engineers) in acquiring prices for Hotels in real-time. We have a relatively high throughput system comprising of a number of Typescript services deployed on K8s that use Postgres, Redis, MongoDB and RabbitMQ. Pricing information continues to be key for Hoteliers to compete with Online Travel Agents, and as our longest running product there are many exciting opportunities to evolve both our business and the hotel industry.

What are we looking for
As an Implementation Engineer at re:infer you’ll be hands-on delivering our secure, scalable and highly-available machine learning platform on cloud and on-site client infrastructure. The role is instrumental in ensuring a smooth and painless deployment for new clients and is key to maintaining a stable and up-to-date deployment with existing clients.


We’re looking for someone creative and self-motivated, driven by solving problems, improving technical processes and willing to get stuck in and get things done.


What you’d be doing
You’ll be working closely with both business and technical staff and a key part of the role is to manage expectations, translate requirements and communicate between teams at re:infer and clients.


You’ll use your technical skills to constantly improve the deployment process, develop tooling, automate tasks and provide ad-hoc solutions to real-time critical and complex problems.

  • Linux systems administration and management

Stack
The backend is a mixture of Python and Rust and consists of many containerized stateless microservices and a few stateful ones. There’s a mixture of interactive and batch services, with many running heavy numerical loads. Everything gets deployed on Kubernetes in Google Cloud Platform.


Additionally we support on premise deployments for our biggest clients (either a private cloud or Docker EE). We use RethinkDB and Elasticsearch for storage and indexing. The frontend is built using Typescript, React, Redux and Webpack.
