The Tech Strategy and Architecture Services (TSAS) team within GTI has a mission to influence the technology strategy and direction of GTI and incubates strategic program capabilities to drive innovation and maturity across tech services.  The Strategic Architecture Programs team within TSAS helps introduce, integrate, accelerate and mature the adoption of new technology capabilities, design processes and tools.  Strategic architecture also includes a regional architecture charter for GTI as a line-of-business. 
 
This particular role is for a VP level Infrastructure Technology Architect covering EMEA to support regional infrastructure architecture needs and help drive local teams toward the standardization and adoption of GTI managed services from current state to target state, applying resiliency in designs to meet stated recovery objectives, and address performance, scalability, security, data protection and regulatory objectives.
 
Responsibilities shall include:
  • Work with service owners to adopt and enable end-to-end automation to facilitate best-in-class resiliency capabilities including repaving of technology stacks and sustained resiliency across datacenter locations
  • Design and develop systems management solutions using automation and self-repair rather than relying on alarming and human intervention
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via developing tools and automation – for example automated server build processes
  • Analyze regional business requirements and define strategy and design for infrastructure solutions including regional datacenter and branch technology solutions
  • Respond to and resolve emergent service problems; build tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence
  • Participate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting
Required skill sets
  • Advanced level proficiency in infrastructure architecture/design for at least three of the core disciplines:  Distributed computing (Unix, Linux, Windows), Networking, Storage, Infrastructure management systems, Datacenter support systems
  • Minimum 5 years in a Solutions Architecture or Systems Engineering type role
  • Experience with application and infrastructure resiliency patterns and resiliency testing including disaster recovery design
  • Experience in the day to day usage and troubleshooting of Linux based operating systems such as RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
  • Experience with application infrastructure modernization (Migrating brownfield apps to modern infrastructure)
  • Intermediate proficiency with at least one programming language such as Go, Java, C/C++, NodeJS, Python and shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - desire to solve complex problems at scale
 
Strong Plus
  • Experience with modern relational and document-oriented databases
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies VMWare ESX, Hyper-V
  • Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform services, etc.
  • Knowledge with Docker containers and at least one container orchestration technology – Kubernetes, Mesosphere, OpenShift, Swarm, etc.
  • Applied experience with configuration management solutions (Puppet, Chef, etc.).
