What would make you the Software Engineer we are looking for:

· Proven experience in a similar position

· Working knowledge of one or more major programming languages (including but not limited to Java, C/C++, Python, Perl etc.) and interest in learning other coding languages

· Knowledge of database design (any vendor)

Server & Storage Engineer required for a large public-sector organisation based in Leeds going through a time of change and transformation.

Your new role
Working with colleagues across IT, you will be responsible for supporting the development of and overseeing the implementation of the server and storage standards and processes.
You will join a team supporting a variety of servers and storage solutions that underpin key business activities including; Active Directory (including federated services), Server Provision (both physical and virtual), Lecture Capture, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, Office 365, SAP, Banner, Remote Access Services such as Desktop Anywhere, Web Hosting, Student Portal, Printing, Security and Compliance, Cloud Hosting and Provision.

Octopus Labs is hiring a Tech lead to lead a team that build high volume FinTech platforms from the ground up. The Tech Lead will be a visible Leader who provides technical direction for the team, instils confidence in their ability to deliver high quality, secure and scalable products and provides technical guidance and direction to both the tech team and the business.   • You are an experienced Python developer
  • You have experience in developing the technical skills of others within a team
  • You are the tech team’s representative for the project, you lead tech discussions and are the voice of the tech team in meetings where the whole team is not involved.
  • You make architectural direction decisions and where appropriate collaborate with others (other tech leads or architects) to ensure aligned approach. You ensure the architecture is documented, shared and kept up to date.
