Our team is made up of great engineers that work in an extremely collaborative environment.  We are very happy with remote working and are set-up with the right technology to make this seamless.  Our team comes from a wide range of backgrounds and experience.

What do you MEAN by Full Stack?

What we are looking for is engineers who understand the relationship of each section of our stack and how your work can effect the different areas.  This is critical when dealing with the challenges that we face.  Our stack looks something like...but we are not limited to just these technologies.

Angular, Redux, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Docker, Kubernetes, Memcached, Redis, Kafka, AWS

You don't need to be an expert in both the front and the back end but you do need to be able to understand and explain the relationships between them and beyond.

Remote working...how does that work?

Our remote policy is pretty simple.  You do need to come to the office but we can work out exactly how that works for you.  Some people do 3 weeks away and come for a week.  We have accommodation that we can normally put you up in, so that takes care of any additional cost to you.  Other people work from home a few days per week.  It's really about managing being part of the team.  You do need to be within +/- 3 hours GMT and ideally +/- 2 hours.  You'll also need to be able to travel to the UK regularly.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Technical Writer will produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall accessibility and usability of the Poq platform. Compose clear and coherent technical information, discuss commercial and industrial products and services, write instruction manuals for developers and users while from a position of deep understanding of the company's products and applications. This will be an initial 6 month contract.

What you'll be doing

  • Articulating a content strategy that seeks to create sustainable processes for creating, reviewing, publishing and archiving technical content.
  • Producing high-quality documentation supporting our platform assets, including SDKs, APIs, processes and procedures.
  • Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  • Creating tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analysing existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Creating and maintaining an information architecture that supports an accessible and usable repository
  • Identifying opportunities to automate documentation through source code and developer build tools
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues, and working with Leads to discuss technical problems
  • Researching and building knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
  • Determining the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension; writing and editing technical information accordingly

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • Knowledge of modern documentation tools and techniques (git, gitbook, Jekyll, markdown)
  • Ability to define and deliver a content strategy
  • Ability to read code and write small code samples (.NET, Swift, C# etc)
  • Ability to create high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Practical experience in agile software development environment

  • Experience working as a Developer or Designer on an Agile development team

The roles:

The L&G digital team are recruiting multiple Front End Developers with a focus on modern JavaScript frameworks and effective software development practices. The 'My Account' team build, maintain and continuously improve their core customer self-service platform. It's challenging work; it's used by millions of people, and is central to the company's digital strategy.

Built in Angular and supported by Amazon EC2 infrastructure, the team utilise and champion the latest agile technical practices; TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, refactoring, automated containers and emergent design are all in play.

They are given free rein to investigate and propose new open source technologies that could benefit the platform. There's a real buzz in the team at the moment, and they are now looking to bring in some new local talent. There are multiple positions, at mid- and senior level.

What you'll need to succeed:

You will have demonstrable experience of working with modern JavaScript in a delivery focused team. The team work with Angular, but their infrastructure means they can play with new technologies. Any exposure to other libraries or frameworks (React, Vue, Node etc) will be beneficial.

Just because L&G are a large and well established business, it doesn't MEAN that they only want to see applications from people that work in large corporates or with Financial Services experience. Training, support and development towards your Professional Qualifications


First and second years

Along with other KPMG360° apprentices, you’ll undertake an induction programme and will have regular training sessions to develop your professional skills (e.g. presentation skills, resilience, project management and team working).You will gain varied work experience and get involved with live projects. You will also begin your BSc degree in Digital and Technology Solutions.


Third and fourth years

During this phase, you’ll start to specialise both within the business and your studies. Study areas of specialisms could include: IT Consultant, Business Analyst, Network Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Software Engineer or Data Analyst. This will form the basis for your future career within KPMG.


You’ll be supported every step of the way and in addition to technical training, you will develop key professional skills to support you to succeed in the professional world.


During university term time, apprentices are given one day study leave per week. The course is delivered online and you can choose to study anywhere, making this a flexible offering for you (some of the sessions are delivered in the evening). You’ll get a huge amount of support and resources from, tutors, lectures, and online lecture support.


You’ll have quarterly reviews with your training provider and line manager to ensure the objectives of your apprenticeship are being met.


What do we look for?

We’re looking for bright, enthusiastic people with a passion and aptitude for technology. Perhaps you’ve delivered a digital/technology focused project at school or college, such as creating or running a website, app or game? Or you might have started writing basic code or are able to demonstrate an interest in new emerging technologies and actively read up on these?

GCSE and A-level Entry Requirements

- Minimum of 104 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff point system (e.g BCC at A Level or equivalent qualifications*)* Or international equivalent


Scottish Entry Requirements

-A minimum of 5 Standard Grades at grades 1-3 which must include Maths and English (or equivalent Intermediate/National 5 qualification)

-Equivalent of 104 new UCAS tariff points at Higher/Advanced Higher level.

Your role as a Java Engineer is important in the future of our product development.

Colorway’s unique feature set is designed to take the drudgery out of all aspects of creating and managing artwork variations—saving significant amounts of time, reducing the potential for errors and letting you concentrate on refining your design’s aesthetics. With the power to iterate freely and make changes right up to the last minute, you can explore more options and ultimately arrive at better decisions. And since your ideas are communicated with the benefit of true 3D lighting, shading, materials and depth of field, you’ll have the confidence that your stakeholders fully appreciate your intentions. With Colorway, you can quickly iterate on looks, explore different colour combinations, save and manage any number of variations and convincingly communicate your ideas—all without time-consuming re-rendering. Client made last-minute changes that MEAN your concept needs new images? No problem—your Colorway project will automatically pick up the updated files, so you can re-export all of your variations with just a couple of clicks.

THE ROLE.

Colorway is built on four key technologies; OpenGL (GLSL shaders), Qt, C++, and Python. Colorway Creator is a a design friendly DCC application for sending 3D assets to Colorway. There are several components developed under the Colorway banner; a cross platform desktop application and a series of kits to create Colorway specific formats from 3D content creation applications. For the technology, you’ll need to understand cross platform application architecture image processing technologies and 3D rendering techniques, such as render passes, AOV, and UV mapping.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Assist in the design, implementation and documentation of complex software features.
    • Document your work clearly and concisely in the source code including contributing to automated testing where required
    • Contribute to the culture and success of the team, providing assistance, code reviews, etc. as and when needed
    • Be a part of project planning and success by providing effort estimates across the tasks assigned to the team
    • Be a part of the software quality and stability by fixing bugs and implementing minor features
    • Assist our Customer Support team with investigation and suggestions related to issues reported by users

THE REQUIREMENTS.

    • Advanced knowledge of (C/C++) programming language
    • 3+ years of industry experience developing real time 3D applications
    • Good Python or other scripting language skill
    • Image processing and OpenGL experience
    • Experience with rendering in standard DCC application beneficial
    • Knowledge of development tools and processes as part of a team

  • You will be following the evolution of the various Azure services closely, so you can apply the bleeding edge technology into your projects and designs.

    • build secure API’s

  • You should have, or be capable to adapt, a deep knowledge on Microsoft Azure in all its integration aspects (Service Fabric, Azure IoT, Data Analysis, API’s, Workflows, etc…).
  • Experience with .NET and distributed programming is a must.

About the role

Apps are replacing the mobile web. As the next generation of shoppers go online, they increasingly go mobile, and they favour apps. Nielsen and Flurry both report that 90% of time spent on mobile is spent in apps. Apps are taking over, and it’s happening faster than people thought. The problem today is that apps need a completely different back-end compared to the web. Instead of rendering the HTML on the server and pushing it to a browser, the new generation of REST APIs provide clean and tidy JSON data that's easy and fast to use in apps.

And this is when you come in. The apps are a shiny front-end, but all the cool stuff actually happens in our APIs in the cloud. Because our platform plugs retailers into an ecosystem of technology providers in the cloud, we need to connect our customers to our platform and to providers such as Magento, Shopify and Stripe. As an essential member of our Professional Services Team, this role will help to make that happen.

What you'll be doing

• Translate user journeys and data flows into functional back-end integrations 
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code and tests 
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications 
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues 
• Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automation 
• Suggest improvements and optimisations to the back end platform 
• Strive to create solutions that adhere to platform standards

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years experience with C#, .NET 
• Strong knowledge of working with Rest APIs using Asp.Net Web API 
• Creating solutions that customers love 
• Love of writing clean, maintainable, easy-to-test code. 
• Working with Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google) 
• Agile experience
