About the programme
KPMG360° Digital is a four-year apprenticeship programme that combines academic study with practical work experience. Based in London, Leeds or Manchester, you’ll undertake varied work experience with technology teams across the firm. At the same time, you’ll also study for a BSc degree in Digital and Technology Solutions with our training provider, BPP University.
Digital technology plays a big role at KPMG – and it’s about to get even bigger. That’s why we have created a brand new degree level apprenticeship, designed to nurture our next generation of talent. Whether you want to advise clients on complex technologies or design game-changing solutions from the ground up, it will equip you with the skills you need to succeed.
Through your degree learning and business placements, you’ll gain a broad view of the business and, you’ll gain a clear idea about where you want to specialise. Possible career paths open to you include everything from consultancy and network engineering to cyber security and data analytics.
Responsibilities and tasks
You’ll gain varied work experience in technology teams, such as Technology Enablement, Cyber Security, Forensic Technology and Technology Solutions. You might be working on projects such as advising on cyber security, rolling out software, coming up with better ways to manage client data, or even designing a mobile-friendly app. The possibilities are incredibly varied – but what’s not in doubt is that each placement will include:
- Becoming an integral part of the team, networking and developing relationships internally and with key members of our clients’ teams.
- Developing commercial awareness, communication, project management and teamwork skills.
- Acquiring new technical skills and leading best practice.
- Spending one day per week out of the office to study for your degree (during university term time).
- Completing degree modules flexibly in your spare time.
- Embracing new ideas and approaches, seeking out new responsibilities and proactively getting involved with a wide range of work.
- Displaying an understanding of KPMG’s values and demonstrating behaviours that inspire the trust and confidence of team members.
- You will take on tasks that directly add value to our clients and our business. Work will vary from placement to placement, but could include:
- Providing valuable support to client-facing teams.
- Research tasks and contributing to business development activity.
- General support to project teams.

Training, support and development towards your Professional Qualifications
First and second years
Along with other KPMG360° apprentices, you’ll undertake an induction programme and will have regular training sessions to develop your professional skills (e.g. presentation skills, resilience, project management and team working).You will gain varied work experience and get involved with live projects. You will also begin your BSc degree in Digital and Technology Solutions.
Third and fourth years
During this phase, you’ll start to specialise both within the business and your studies. Study areas of specialisms could include: IT Consultant, Business Analyst, Network Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Software Engineer or Data Analyst. This will form the basis for your future career within KPMG.
You’ll be supported every step of the way and in addition to technical training, you will develop key professional skills to support you to succeed in the professional world.
During university term time, apprentices are given one day study leave per week. The course is delivered online and you can choose to study anywhere, making this a flexible offering for you (some of the sessions are delivered in the evening). You’ll get a huge amount of support and resources from, tutors, lectures, and online lecture support.
You’ll have quarterly reviews with your training provider and line manager to ensure the objectives of your apprenticeship are being met.
What do we look for?
We’re looking for bright, enthusiastic people with a passion and aptitude for technology. Perhaps you’ve delivered a digital/technology focused project at school or college, such as creating or running a website, app or game? Or you might have started writing basic code or are able to demonstrate an interest in new emerging technologies and actively read up on these?
Technology is a challenging area that’s constantly evolving, so we’ll be looking for some evidence that you’re passionate and committed to this career path.
As a general rule, you'll be expected to meet the following requirements:
GCSE and A-level Entry Requirements
- 5 GCSEs Grades A*-C or 4 – 9 GCSE including Maths and English Language
- Minimum of 104 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff point system (e.g BCC at A Level or equivalent qualifications*)* Or international equivalent
Scottish Entry Requirements
-A minimum of 5 Standard Grades at grades 1-3 which must include Maths and English (or equivalent Intermediate/National 5 qualification)
-Equivalent of 104 new UCAS tariff points at Higher/Advanced Higher level.
Please note, that we only consider a candidate's 'top' 3 A-level grades (or equivalent) and do not accept General Studies.
