    Job Role:

    1 Implement and retain EHC environment

    2. Challenge architects (local and vendor) to map operational needs towards EHC concept

    3. Request and implement RPQ requests

    4. Apply LCM software updates/upgrades in environment

    5. Apply/RPQ customer hardening and other security requirements from customer perspective

    6. Capacity, Performance, Scalability and sizing questionnaires, planning and optimizations

An innovative engineering company, my client are looking for a Test Equipment Software Engineer to join their team. The role will involve C++ Linux - developing software for military applications. The successful candidate will work closely with our client to support tasks across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
* Requirements elicitation and analysis (text based requirements)
* Software design (Rhapsody /UML and traditional textual design)
* Code updates (C++ and Linux based scripting - Eclipse IDE)
* Component level testing (using tools such as GCov)
* Production of documentation appropriate for the lifecycle stage
* Supporting requirement / design / code reviews as required

Essential Skills and Experience:
* Full lifecycle C++ development on Linux using industry standard tools (Eclipse / GCov)
* Experience in working with software requirements (preferable with DOORS)
* UML design experience (preferably with Rhapsody - but other modelling tools are acceptable)
* Safety Critical / structured lifecycle experience
* Producing appropriate documentation

  • Maintain web applications on Linux servers in a production environment and use automated tooling to configure new servers.

You’ll have:

  • Experience configuring and managing Linux servers for serving a dynamic website
  • Experience debugging a complex multi-server service
  • Comfortable with configuration management tools: at least one of Salt, Chef, or Puppet, Familiarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc. and have Scripting or basic programming skills
  • Understanding of application deployment strategies and continuous integration
  • Previous experience deploying web services in Ruby or Python; or previous experience developing web applications in Ruby or Python
  • Knowledge of the use of version control systems such as git or subversion
