MI Forecasting Tech Team is a team of analysts carrying out in-depth analysis on GfK sales data and triangulating it with external data points to explain and anticipate developments in the technology-device and other marketplaces. 

Our mission is to leverage GfK sell-out data to deliver timely, primary and incremental research to industry clients and investment managers. 

We are looking for a strong and dynamic Senior Software Engineer to join our existing tech team – to help create and launch our brand new forecasting platform on AWS and help develop the products and services that we will deliver from this platform for both external and internal clients.  

The successful candidate will help design and develop new full stack solutions and services using technologies such as (but not exclusively) AWS, .NET Core, C#, Node.js. React.js, Vue.js, Lambda, Serverless, Redshift, Entity Framework, Java, Python, PHP, SQL Server and MySQL, and having some knowledge of R, Scala, and Spark would be very useful too (but not essential).

We need someone who has a very strong DevOps mindset, who has a clear understanding of CI, CD, Unit Tests, and Application monitoring, and what tools to use – and from the get go incorporates this "way of working" into everything they and the team do.

You will be working alongside more traditional experienced BI and Web developers, Data Engineers and our Data Science team, the candidate will therefore need excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and educate others in best practices in modern software engineering.

Required Skills

  • Ability to quickly implement robust and scalable tools and services – you can hit the ground running.
  • Being a super productive engineer.

  • Good experience working on AWS

The SCHOLAR team comprises educational developers, software developers, educational authors and designers, professional development trainers and administrative staff in an integrated effort to produce highly commended academic content. 

The person appointed to the post will be responsible for the implementation of a new look and feel for the SCHOLAR product suite.  The appointee will work closely with a web designer.

About the role                                

We are looking for a Drupal Developer responsible for both front-end development and theming as well as back-end/module development. This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.)

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Responsibilities

As a Sr. software engineer, you will participate in the development and delivery of services and components for Ooyala’s Flex Media Platform. Your daily tasks will include:

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to join the Product Development team, reporting to the CTO. You will play a key role within engineering leadership, responsble for hiring, mentoring and managing 15-20 people, while maintaining strong development standards.

Based in beautiful Richmond, London, just by the riverside, you will join a team of over 40 engineers constantly innovating and delivering value to millions of people every single day. We work in an Agile environment in cross-functional squads, building features using continuous integration and constant testing with our users.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • People management of 15-20 back-end and front-end engineers, Scrum Masters and QA engineers.
  • Lead coaching, mentoring, career development and hiring across the team.
  • Work closely with product management to meet company objectives and goals.
  • Partner with leaders from across the business, including other eBay Classifieds Group brands worldwide.
  • Continually innovate and optimise our technology, people and performance.
  • Promote clean, testable and maintainable code that is modular and scalable.

We’re looking for:

  • Experience managing large teams of engineers, testers and managers.
  • Knowledge and experience of software engineering and standard methodologies.
  • Familiar with organising work to follow Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Real passion for developing your people to ensure they succeed.

Although this is not a hands-on role, you should have strong development experience, ideally in some of the tools and technologies that we currently use:

  • Java, Spring, Scala, Akka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Hadoop.
  • React (with Flux), JavaScript ES6, SASS, HTML5.
  • Jenkins, JUnit, ScalaTest, TestNG, Mockito, Cucumber.
