JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Experience in software application development
  • Experience with core Microsoft .NET technologies including WCF, WinForms, LINQ and Entity Framework

  • Experience with T-SQL skills including stored procedure development

This long term appointment is a complement to the existing 25 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system to Royal Navy operations staff.

This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support - it is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various naval HQs.

  • The Software Engineer should be qualified to diploma or degree level in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related discipline.

We're looking for someone who uses code to automate wherever possible and has a real focus on ensuring your platform is robust, reliable and correct. You can imagine edge cases and implement tests to demonstrate the issue, and in many cases fix them as well. You should have a strong knowledge of traffic mirroring and backtesting as you will be a cornerstone of the engineering team, collaborating closely with the engineering, infrastructure, and product design teams. You will also be:
* Enforcing code quality including test strategies to ensure the robustness of the software, with a focus on automation
* Collaborating with the product team to extract acceptance criteria from specifications, and work with engineers to verify correctness of implementation
* Validating and preparing internal and external software releases, from security, load testing to regression testing

We're looking for someone with strong software engineering and programming experience ideally with Golang (Go), C++, C# or Python. Their software is predominantly written in Go and candidates who do not have significant commercial experience with this language will be able to learn from their world class team.
Things we're looking out for include -

What you'll be doing…

Responsibilities:

* Evaluate processes and make recommendations with regard to their potential and suitability for RPA and work effort estimation

* Create and maintain the Solution Design Document (SDD) throughout the project lifecycle,
