Full Stack Developer

Our client based in Basingstoke has been on the leading edge of internet telephony for more than a decade. Due to outstanding business growth and exciting development plans they are seeking an additional experienced Full Stack software developer (with a bias towards front end) to join our busy team, with the opportunity for progression into team leadership. You will possess a real passion for technology and strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies. Whilst the development team is geographically diverse and used to remote collaborative working, this role is based in the Basingstoke head office.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce detailed technical requirement specifications, costings and timescales
  • Prioritise, design, develop, test and deploy new and existing software aligned to the product roadmap meeting the changing needs of our key markets
  • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members in the regular team meetings
  • Hands on coding 

For this role you will require the following technical skills & experience

Programming skills and in-depth knowledge of multiple front-end languages, frameworks and libraries (e.g. HTML5/ CSS, Foundation, Bootstrap, JavaScript, XML, jQuery) and website development using .NET Framework

Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, VB.NET, Python)

Able to demonstrate a good understanding of Windows Server, IIS and Application Pools and have had exposure to deployment technologies such as Docker

A high level of SQL skills in a MySQL environment to support in-depth data analysis, problem solving and report generation

Exposure to client-side frameworks (WinForms, WPF) is essential, and strong knowledge of WebRTC and mobile frameworks (PhoneGap, Xamarin) would be viewed favourably.

Demonstrable design, implementation and maintenance of web service-based API (ASMX, REST, Web API) 

Any experience of Linux, C/C++ and Python together with exposure to communications protocols such as SIP / RTP would be highly advantageous.

Programmer (Video Games)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programmer to join a video games development company based in Liverpool city centre. You will be working closely with other team members to help deliver new projects to a high standard across multiple platforms. On offer is a basic salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience. Working days are Monday to Friday with an element of flexi time available (37.5 hours week).

The main duties of Programmer are;
  • Building and improving engine architecture and features
  • Overseeing and reviewing code to ensure game optimisation
  • Mentor other members of the programming team if required
  • Deliver functionality and key features in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Be proactive and problem-solve performance and stability issues
  • Use experience of the architecture of current games - rendering, gameplay, client/server and tools pipelines
  • Work as part of the wider team but able to work independently too

  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • Video games development experience for PC/console ideally with cross platform experience
  • Experience with Unreal 4 Engine
  • Be able to write clean, professional and maintainable code
